Why We Chose Two Different Golf Simulator Experiences

The easiest decision would have been to make every golf bay identical.

We chose not to.

Enclave has eight simulator bays across two levels, and the club was designed around the idea that there isn't only one way to experience indoor golf.

Some players are obsessed with data. Some want competition. Some want to play extraordinary courses with friends. Some are working seriously on their game. Others simply want an evening that happens to include golf.

A private club should be able to accommodate all of them.

Technology should serve the player

Downstairs, Enclave features four TrackMan iO simulator bays.

TrackMan has become one of the most recognized names in golf technology because of the depth of information it can provide about the golf ball, club and resulting shot.

For the player who wants to understand what is happening in the swing, that information can turn a practice session into something much more productive than simply hitting balls.

Upstairs, four additional simulator bays create another golf environment and another way to experience the game.

The purpose isn't to declare one experience universally better than another.

It is choice.

The room matters too

One lesson becomes obvious when designing indoor golf from the ground up:

The simulator is only one component of a great bay.

Width matters.

Lighting matters.

Screen dimensions matter.

Acoustics matter.

Where people sit matters.

How easily a left- or right-handed player can move through the space matters.

And perhaps most importantly, the bay needs to feel comfortable enough that the people who aren't currently swinging still enjoy being there.

Eight bays. More than one way to play.

Technology evolves.

Golf evolves.

Members play for different reasons.

Rather than designing Enclave around a single definition of indoor golf, we designed it around the people who will actually use it.

Because ultimately the best simulator isn't the one with the longest specification sheet.

It's the one you can't wait to play again.
