Golf in Atlanta When the Weather Doesn't Cooperate

Atlanta is a very good place to be a golfer.

Atlanta is a very good place to be a golfer.

It is not always a predictable place to schedule golf.

A beautiful morning can become a thunderstorm.

A July tee time can feel less like recreation and more like endurance.

Winter produces those perfect 60-degree afternoons — and the occasional day when nobody wants to hold a golf club outside.

Then daylight disappears early just as the workday ends.

Traditionally, golfers accepted those interruptions as part of the game.

Indoor golf creates another option.

Rain doesn't matter.

Sunset doesn't matter.

The temperature on the first tee doesn't matter.

A round at 8:00 p.m. is perfectly reasonable.

That consistency changes more than convenience.

It makes routines possible.

A golfer trying to improve can practice on a predictable schedule rather than hoping Tuesday's weather cooperates.

Friends can create a regular weeknight game without checking radar apps all afternoon.

Business golf can happen after work rather than requiring an entire weekday.

None of this makes outdoor golf less appealing.

A perfect fall afternoon on an Atlanta golf course remains difficult to beat.

Indoor golf simply means the game doesn't have to stop when Atlanta decides not to cooperate.

And anyone who has lived here long enough knows:

Atlanta occasionally has other plans.
